Warmachine Journeyman: Week 4 - Ode to the airbrush

Today is my normal day to game at Dream Wizards.  Unfortunately, today was also the day of my daughters sprince concert.  I found out about this afternoon after I drove to the metro near DW.  I had to leave work early to beat traffic and make it in time to go to the event.

The day wasn't a total loss.  I went home and drilled the pin holdes in the arm of my Wraith Engine.  I didn't want to go ahead and start on the Bane Thralls or finish the eyes on Gorman.  Instead, I decided to break out the airbrush and work on my wreck markers.  In about 30 minutes, I did the models below:

Two colors (Com-Art Burnt Sienna and 50% Grey) on black primer.  Big deal.   I spent longer writing this blog post than I did on the four wreck markers.  As I am painting the metal on the Bane Thralls, I can add the metal to these guys.  Then hit them again with some black for scorched marks and maybe a wash.  I can have these done this week with out any real effort.  Extra points in the Journeyman League.

The Jacks for my Cryx were all started with the airbrush.  Sped things up dramatically.  For the Journeyman league (or whenever you need to get something done quickly), the airbrush is a must have.  Actually, it's a must have regardless.

As of week three, I am 6 game points behind the player with the most game points.  I am in the lead for total points because of my paint score.  That is including me missing my week two games.

I don't know how far I will fall missing today's matches.  I should get three more painting points (when I post Gorman) and that will keep me in the running.  If I can get the Wraith Engine done, I should get close to 10 points if I remember correctly.  That is the same as the second place paint score.

With NOVA approaching, the airbrush will be the reason why I get everything painted.    If you don't have one, get one.  Don't let it intimidate you.  It is easier than you can imagine.
