WIP: eSorscha

I have to say that this has to be the worse model I have ever put together.  Originally the staff broke and I green stuffed it into place.  Not the best job but it worked.  Now I am almost done and she detached from the base and took some of the paint off.  So...I have to airbrush the base again.

Now I have her set pinned to put her on her base.  I am so done with this model.

There is a Cryx in my neck...

I ordered the final pieces for my Sorscha Khador army and the ADHD started kicking in.  What should I work on next.  I am the type of gamer that has to get a new shiny.  When I looked at Warmachine one army leaped out at me, the Cryx.  I loved their Jacks and the models looked great.  How can you go wrong with dead things?

Then the two player battle box came out and I grabbed Khador and built and army around Sorscha.  I love my Commies but the lust to build new things and taste the new pleasures (even though I only played a few times with Sorscha).

WIP: Khador Spriggan

I keep saying that I want to finish my eSorscha model.  Each time I see a model that is closer to being finished.  This is the case again.  I was looking at the Spriggan model and realized he was almost done.

I think next week I am going to splurge and pay the $40 to by a photo box and lights.  The florescent and the iPhone hate each other.   I just need to do a few more bits of shading and washing the metal.

WIP: Beast-09 and The Wardog

Well...I bailed on going to Dream Wizards.  Not enough people to guarantee a game.  So I did some more work on Beast-09.  I am almost done with him.  I have some touch ups and I need to finish the shading.  I am not pleased but I feel like I am getting better with everything.  Shading will be the hardest.  My issue is I am either too dark or all over the place.  I just need to practice.

More pics of Beast-09 and the Wardog after the jump...

Battle Plan

They say no plan survives first contact with the enemy.  My first Warmachine match proved that.  Nate took a Cygnar heavily armored Warcaster (sorry the name escapes me).  He controlled the match and if it wasn't for luck, his help and an act of desperation I would have lost.

Fast forward to week 2. I was man handled and stomped into the dirt.  I learned a lot and have retooled the army because of this (I still need to buy the replacement pieces).  The game was fun but is too fast to not adapt and switch your gameplan when it isn't working.

More after the break ...

WIP: Beast-09 and others

I almost have Beast-09 complete.  I have some shoulder guards to work on then highlights.  While I was painting the shoulder guards red, I used the excess paint to start Lady Aiyana & Master Holt.  I am going to use the Khador colors for them. Maybe more gray and white on Holt and darker colors on Aiyana.

I should have pics of what is complete before the holiday.

Speaking of holidays, Battle Foam is having 25% off on almost everything this Friday.  If you want it, buy it now.

Header

I want to thank Tod (from Sincain40k) for making this cool header for me.  I am sure he is out looking for new dice after Sunday.  Good game.  Even a blind squirrel can get a nut some times.

Week 2: Warmachine/Hordes League

Week 2 is in the books.  I played Dan and his Cygnar army.  I am not sure the warcaster her used but he soundly destroyed me.  I did manage to take down his commandos but that was a sacrifice that he did to stop Beast-09 from helping clear a line.  I learned a lot and Dan was a great opponent.

The more I play and watch games of Warmachine, the more I like it.  In most games, you are not out until your caster dies.  I was losing my first game but popped pSorscha's feat and won the game. A lot of times it takes an all or nothing attack when you are down to win.  I like that aspect.

I should have the War Dog done this weekend and then back to Beast-09 and eSorscha.

WIPs and League Night

I finally got my 35pt Khador army almost fully based.  Finished the priming, pinning and painting/washing the bases.  Just need to actually put the primed figures on the base.  I should do that tonight and may finish the War Dog (I know I have other WIPs but he was a quick airbrush and only his armor remains).

Hitting Dream Wizards for League Night.  Should be fun even if I can't continue my winning streak.

WIP: eSorscha and Beast-09

After I finished getting some pinning and airbrushing done, I started to work on eSorscha and Beast-09.

Started the metal work.  Need to work on eSorscha's boots a bit.

Going for the same color scheme as Beast-09.  I figure it matches since he is her Warjack.

I am actually pleased with the frost effect on the axe.

I crush your head

Necrons and Foodmachine

This will be my third attempt to post. For some reason, Blogger does not like the iPads browser so I am try the iPhone app. Let's see if this works.

I picked up the Necron Codex to read while I am stuck at this conference. The area I am at isn't known for its night life (or any life). I will be writing a few small threat assessments to post here and the Beltway Gamers site. We will see how they turn out.

This Sunday is the Foodmachine Warmachine/Hordes charity event at Games and Stuff where you can purchase cheats for donations. I will try to have my guys based this weekend and try to have the wife let me go but I won't push it since I am signed up for the Dream Wizards League. Should be fun times.

WIPs: Beast-09 and eSorscha

Started working on theses two:

Sorry for the bad photos. The base on eSorscha is the only thing of note on her. I am going to go for the off-white look on her to match Beast-09. Started airbrushing Beast-09 so I can get him on a base.

Busy Busy...

Gonna be a busy weekend and week.  Trying to get my Khador army based to play in the start of the Warmachine/Horde League by Beltway Gamers at Dream Wizards in Rockville.  I have one set of mechaniks I need to clean and I need to finish assembling Spriggan.  Get everything primed and on a base.  Not attached to a base but on it.

I am expecting my beginners luck (including the help from Nate) won't appear during the League since prizes are involved but nothing is better to learn a game then being thrown to the wolves.

I should have the new Badger Velocity through it's paces this weekend.  It's heavier then my El Cheapo but works like a charm.  I am really happy with it.  I plan on using it on the Spriggan.  Should be good times.

I plan on getting the majority of Kovnik Jozef Grigorovich finished tonight.  I should have pics up sometime this weekend.
