SWTOR: September is for Beta; October is for Release

I saw a few sights that bring up a good point.  If they are doing a beta the month of September, why wait till November to release a game?  If you look at Rift, two weeks before the beta was going to end they announced that they were going to go live a week after the beta ended.  Why build excitement then wait?  Of course this is EA.

Watching his vids while I wait for the glue on the building I’m making to dry.  He does a kick ass job on his models.

Heresy Online: Warhammer 40k Predictions

Heresy Online: Warhammer 40k Predictions

Heresy Online has some predictions for 6th edition which is due out about a year from now (beginning of August). Looking at the posters list it seems far fetched to say the least.

  • A book for each of the Chaos gods.  While not impossible (they have one for most SM chapters), it is unlikely.

  • A primarch.  This isn’t gonna happen.

  • Blood bowl with arena.  Not likely.

  • 2 new races.  Another not likely one.  God help us if they do.  More Codex creep.

  • One of two Forge World models being dropped to the normal GW line.  Either the Thunderhawk or Warhound.  I wish this would happen.

While these are nice, I think this is someone just trying to get some attention.  I guess it worked.

Galaxy In Flames

I finished “Galaxy in Flames” and I have to say that it was really good.  It had one twist I didn’t think would happen and kept me interested for the whole thing.

Borders didn’t have “Flight of the Einstein” so I picked up the Grey Knights Omnibus.  Pretty good read as well.  Of course it is dated, the Grey Knights don’t use droppods any more.  They just teleport into to the battle.

False Gods Done

I finished reading False Gods.  I wasn’t as disappointed in why and how Horus turned.  It felt right and didn’t leave me scratching my head.  The ending was a little episode 1’ish.  It didn’t have me hooked like the first one.  I started reading Galaxy in Flames and I like it so far. I will keep everyone posted.

Nothing depresses you like bad primer...

I spent an hour adding a few more layers of white on parts of my land raider for the Ultramarines. I made it a little runny to give a better shine on the areas and to show less of my brush stokes.  It wasn’t long before I realized that I could see where the Armory primer has owned me.  The white slowly spread into areas where the primer went on clumpy and I didn’t notice.

Unfortunately, I think my Ultramarines are more of what not to do when painting.  I am finishing them up and using them as an example of why I am still learning to paint.  Occasionally, I have flashes of brilliance and then disaster.

Next week, I will pick up some Army Painter primer.  I love the stuff and the humidity doesn’t mess it up.   I will pay the extra in order to not have to sand shit down.

SWTOR Pre-Order is LIVE!

As of 430 EST, you could pre-order one of three flavors of SWTOR.  They are having a head start and your admitance is based on when you register your pre-order.

They state quanities are limited but who knows what that means. I have heard from a few people that they recieved a message stating they AREN’T likely to get a pre-order but I think they were overseas.  I recieved the ARE message.  Details on the goodies after the break.

Nice Relaxing Evening

I didn’t do a lot.  I watched the new Tosh.0 and managed to get some painting down on a speeder and the landraider.  I will probably finish up my squad of marines and then I have a ton more to prime and paint.  Joys of a hobby.

Looks like GameStop leaked it and listed a bunch of thing you get with it.  Massively has the details but they did mention you could get head start access.

SWTOR Collectors Edition Info Leaked

SWTOR Collectors Edition Info Leaked

Not sure if it’s legit but looks it.  The price tag of $200 is a bit more than I want to shell out.  I can buy a lot of 40k minis.

Hmmm…Not sure about this one.  I guess CoD in space would be cool.

False Gods

I am almost finished False Gods and I have to say I am still impressed.  I really enjoyed it and will try to see if I can snag the next few from Borders and take advantage of their impeding bankruptcy.

Busy weekend...

I had a blast this weekend.  Managed to get a game of 40k in, bought what was needed to start my own table top, and finally got the Sargent where I wanted him.

This crappy spot was my deployment zone.  As you can see my small Draigowing army (yeah I had to use some Ultramarine dreads for GK dreads), had no cover.  That is Draigo and some Pally’s using the Psyback as cover.  They did managed to get to Thom’s objective and contest it in round 6.  Thom was willing to call it after that.  It was a great game that had both of us making mistakes.

Grey Knights

I managed to to get my Dreadknight completed and was able to pick up and build the Coteaz and Draigo models.  I can say that Coteaz and Draigo were in much better shape then the Librarian.  I was able to get them together in a few seconds with very little flash that needed to be removed.  Also no pinning was needed.

I added pics below:

Chillin like a villian

Managed to get another six mile run and have enough time to work on some models.  I fixed the mistake I did on the Sargent I was painting and almost finished building a Nemesis Dreadknight.

I was also listening to the new MC Lars album, “Lars Attacks”.  Pretty good album.  I have to recommend The Gospel of Hip-Hop (featuring KRS-One).

Feeding the addiction

Chuck’s Comics is celebrating their 22nd birthday with a 22% sale. I picked up my primer, a 30/0 paint brush and a nemesis dreadknight. Not sure what I am going to do with the dreadknight yet. I have a few lists with one in it but nothing set in stone.

Horus Rising Done

I finished the book and it was pretty good.  I wasn’t exactly too happy with the ending but I think most of that is because I know the series.  I picked up False Gods and I am looking forward to get started on that this weekend.

I can say it has given me some nice ideas for the Deathwatch game.

Still have some touch up work and I need to finish the gun but he is coming along. Thanks to Todd for the advice on the cloth and coloring.

Horus Rising

I am half done and have to say I am impressed and surprised. I was worried that it would be one of those typical gaming novels.

I am looking forward to getting the next novel even though Todd has said he hates it based on his dislike of traitors.

I spent much of the evening working on my Ultramarine Sargent, cleaning up the terminators, and coloring eagles on the tactical marines. Gonna be throwing down against Todd and his Eldar. I hope the boys in blue can bring the pain.

More work on the Sargent.
